Practical notes
The fastest crop in the garden — three weeks from sowing. Sow a short row every ten days; a whole packet at once just gives one glut and then nothing.
Knowing when to pick
Pull as soon as the shoulders reach 2–3 cm. A week too late and they are hollow, hot and split.
Storing the crop
Tops off, then up to a week in the fridge. Really a pick-and-eat crop.
